The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sanctioned 66 personnel across various ranks for offences ranging from misconduct to other disciplinary infractions.

The action reaffirms the Corps’ commitment to discipline, professionalism and accountability in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.

In a press release signed by Babawale Afolabi, Assistant Commandant of Corps, National Public Relations Officer, NSCDC, the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, mni, OFR, disclosed this during a press conference at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja.

Prof. Audi stated that the disciplinary actions, which include dismissal, reduction in rank, suspension and warning, followed the receipt of official correspondence from the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) after its meeting.

He explained that the affected personnel had undergone established disciplinary procedures, including proceedings before the Orderly Room and the Senior and Junior Officers’ Disciplinary Committees, where the nature and gravity of their respective offences were examined and appropriate sanctions recommended.

The NSCDC helmsman noted that the recommended disciplinary measures were subsequently ratified by the Board, underscoring the Corps’ resolve to maintain high standards of discipline and professional conduct among its personnel.

He reiterated the Corps’ commitment to institutional discipline, professional excellence and improved service delivery in line with its mandate of safeguarding lives, property and critical national assets.

The Corps said the sanctions serve as a warning that misconduct will not be tolerated, no matter the rank of the officer involved.
