The Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu has sensitised government house staff on Covid 19
Bagudu said the only preventive measure against the deadly disease for now was personal hygiene and environmental sanitation.
She embarked on campaign yesterday to Government House Staff on preventive measures to be taken against the pandemic caused by Covid 19
The wife of the governor enjoined the Government House staff that it was imperative for them to lead the campaign as well as take the message home to their families on how best to stay safe against Covid 19 virus.
Dr Bagudu expressed worry that the Corona virus pendamic was taking its toll on countries and affecting their way of living and economy.
She cited example of Saudi Arabia where congregational prayers were disallowed and people were instructed to pray at home.
While praying to God to overcome the scourge of the pandamic, she promised to make sanitizers and disinfectants available for use to the Government House staff.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Gwandu commended the wife of the Governor for her steadfastness in mobilising and sensitizing people against Covid 19 since its outbreak in the country.
He described her humanitarian services to people as worthy of emulation and commendation while also thanking her for rendering free treatment to 10,000 cancer patients in the state .
The Chief Imam of Government House,Malan Umar Salla commended Dr Bagudu for her effort to sensitizes the public.He said only Allah can reward her while urging her to continue the good work she was doing.
In his short sermon, Malan Umar Salla admonished the gathering to take all the precautionary measures given by the experts and fortify their hope with prayers.
He said the Corona Virus pandamic was a test from Allah and they should be steadfast in prayers and imbibing the culture of hygiene.
The sensitization on Covid 19 preventive measures at Government House Birnin Kebbi was attended by the Permanent Secretary,, Government House Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Gwandu, Special Advisers, Directors and Deputy Directors. Others are the Chief Imam of Government House, the press , security,cooks and other staff.
Highlights of the event was video shows on Covid 19 and hand washing demonstration by officials from the state Ministry of Health.
