Former governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdul-Aziz Yari has distributed food item worth N1.3billion to the masses. The purchasing and distribution of the food items was aimed at cushioning the hardship faced by the majority of the populace across the fourteen local government of the state.
Speaking at the occasion Yari stated that he decided to make the supply to the people particularly, supporters of his party (APC) which is now in the opposition.
According to him, although it has been a tradition in the state for over two decades of assisting the people by the sitting governor, he as an individual will continue to assist the people despite leaving office. “Whatever we have is for our people we always want to see the faces of our people with smile and by God’s grace and coupled with the holy month of Ramadan, we will not relent in that direction” yari added.
The former governor who was represented by the senator who represented Zamfara central at the upper chamber from 2011 to 2019, Senator Kabiru Marafa, also disclosed that he has taken it up as a duty that so long as he lives, he will make sure that he shares his things with others. “By the grace of God, this is a promise that as long as I live, no Ramadan will come and pass without committing myself in the service of humanity. I therefore call upon all those who are well-to-do- in the society to assist their brothers and sisters as well as their neighbors around them in order to get the blessing of God
