Business leaders converge on Abidjan with Glo’s support

Heads of governments, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), international investors, experts and high-level policy makers will converge on Abidjan, the economic hub of Cote d’Ívoire, for the annual Africa CEO Forum, hosted by Jeune Afrique Media Group and Rainbow Unlimited, with the partnership of telecoms leader, Globacom, who is coming in as Diamond sponsor.

A statement by Globacom in Lagos on Wednesday said this is the second consecutive year that it has supported these business leaders to deliberate on ways of mobilising African businesses to champion private sector-led growth on the continent.

The 2019 edition which Globacom also sponsored was held in Kigali, Rwanda, and was attended by over 800 chief executives of multinational companies and over 1,800 participants from 70 countries.

The theme of this year’s edition is “Capitalism for the many, a new horizon for the African private sector”.

Globacom said its motivation for sponsoring the conference was the need to provide a networking platform for decision makers to identify ways to improve intra-African trade and investments, while nurturing the continent’s economic potential.

Jeune Afrique Media Group said for the 2020 CEO Forum, “1,800 business leaders, heads of government and policy makers will gather to rethink the role of African capitalism in this age of digital disruption with its attendant economic and political uncertainties”.
