COVID -19: Master Bakers donate 100,000 loaves of Bread to Kogi Communities

The Kogi state branch of the Master Bakers and Confectioners’ Association of Nigeria (MBCAN) on Wednesday donated one hundred thousands ( 100,000.) loaves of bread to vulnerable persons across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The state Chairman of the Association, Mr. Gabriel Bamidele Adeniyi who disclosed this while flagging off the distribution on Wednesday at the palace of the Ohimege Igu of Koton karfe in Kogi local government area said the gesture is to reduce economic hardship on the people.

He added that the pandemic has wrecked havoc on the socio economic lives of many families which has brought untold hardship on the people forcing them to look unto Governments ,Corporate Organisations and Spirited Individuals for their survival.

He noted that his Association is equally gropping in the dark owing to high cost of production but said the survival of the people who are their customers is critical to members adding that the Association is pained by the worsening situation of parents to feed their families at thiis critical period.

Adeniyi explained that his Association despite all economic odds was able to provide thousands of jobs to the teeming unemployed youths thereby reducing the incidence of crimes and criminality in the state.

While commending the Federal and State Governments for their interventions, Adeniyi urged corporate organizations and individuals to contribute their quota in reducing burdens of the covid19 on the people.

He urged the people to always observe the guidelines and laid down regulations by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control( NCDC) by maintaining Social Distance, Regular washing of hands with Sanitizers and to avoid over crowded places.

While receiving the loaves of breads , the Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) on Security of the LGA Hon. Isah Abdulkarim commended the Association for the gestures and promised to judiciously share the materials to the target beneficiaries.

In his remark, the Paramount Ruler of Kotokarfe , HRM Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto said the choice of the Association to flag off the distribution in Koto was not out of place but a recognition of the place of Igu Kotonkarfe as the center of civilization in the state.
