COVID-19 Ortom Extends Lockdown Indefinitely

…Orders Closure Of Make-shift Markets, Entry Points

Though with only one recorded case of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, Governor Samuel Ortom has extended the partial lockdown been observed in Benue State indefinitely.

Ortom also said all make-shift markets were equally banned with immidiate effect .

The governor who spoke to journalist at government house Makurdi also placed a ban on inter-state travels through Benue and urged those saddled with the responsibility of enforcing the orders to be up to the task.

He added that the measures became imperative owing to the increase in cases of the virus across the country.

He commended the state COVID- 19 Committee headed by his Deputy, Benson Abounu, for a job well done and extended same to the entire Benue people whom he noted had coporated to a reasonable level with the committee.

While acknowledging the hardship been faced by the people owing to the preventive measures put in place by government , the governor however said no sacrifice was too much in efforts towards seen that the spread of the disease in Benue was curtailed.
