Nigeria records 245 new cases of COVID-19, total now 2,802

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday night announced 245 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2802.

The NCDC also announced that 17 recoveries and six deaths were recorded in Nigeria all through Monday.

According to NCDC in its official Twitter handle, “245 new cases of #COVID19; 76-Lagos, 37-Katsina, 32-Jigawa, 23-Kano, 19-FCT, 18-Borno, 10-Edo, 9-Bauchi, 6-Adamawa, 5-Oyo, 5-Ogun, 1-Ekiti, 1-Osun,1-Benue, 1-Niger, 1-Zamfara. As at May 4, there are 2802 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria with 417 Discharged and 93 Deaths.

The NCDC, also said, “Nine cases previously announced as discharged cases, were reported in error.

Therefore, there are 417 cases that have been discharged and One case reported in Nasarawa was a repeat test. The state has a total of 11 confirmed cases”
As of May 4th 2020, 34 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria have recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID19.

“For a breakdown of confirmed cases by States, as at 4th of May; Lagos State currently, had 1183, FCT-297, Kano-365, Ogun-85, Osun-35, Gombe-92 Katsina-83, Borno-100, Edo-62, Oyo-39, Kwara-14, Akwa Ibom-16, Bauchi-80, Kaduna-81, Ekiti-12, Ondo-13, Delta-17, Rivers-14, Jigawa-39, Enugu-4, Niger-4, Abia-2, Zamfara-10, Sokoto-66, Benue-2, Anambra-1, Adamawa-12, Plateau-1, Imo-2, Taraba 8, Bayelsa 5, Ebonyi 3, Kebbi 2, Nasarawa-12, Yobe 4”
