Dambatta community donates N2.1 million to Kano COVID-19 fund

A donation of N2,160,000 has been presented to the Kano State Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19 by Dambatta Local Government Areas to assist mitigate the effects of the corona virus decimating the international community.

Giving updates on the cash and kind donation, the Commissioner for Information and member of the committee, Malam Muhammad Garba, gave a breakdown of the cash donation as follows:
Alhaji Abba Dabo N450,000; Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago N500,000; Alhaji Musa Gwadabe N500,000, and Alhaji Nu’uman Barau Dambatta N300,000.

The rest are Alhaji Ibrahim Nuhu Amasaye N200,000; Permanent Secretaries of Dambatta origin N100,000; Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim N50,000; Alhaji Magaji Sani N50,000, and Barr. Salisu Haruna N10,000.
Other donors include Futma Universal Concept Ltd N118,250 and Alhaji Hamisu Dankaka N100,000.

Malam Garba appealed to corporate bodies and wealthy individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee which was set up to collect donations in cash or in kind and distribute same to those in need, so as to cushion the harsh effects of Covid-19 in Kano.

He added that anyone willing to donate in cash should pay/transfer to account: Kano State COVID-19 Support, UBA, Account No: 1022751785, while donations in kind are received at a warehouse at No 94, Maganda Road, and at the Kano State Government Printing Press located at the Emir’s Palace Road.
