FCTA’s Area Council Services Secretariat commits 70% budget to rural infrastructure

The Area Council Services Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) said it will commit over 70% of its Secretariat’s 2022 capital budget to execute projects and improve infrastructure development in rural communities.

Secretary, Area Council Services Secretariat, Mr Ibrahim Dantsoho stated this during familiarization tour to Abaji Area council’s chairman with graded traditional rulers within the area.

Dantsoho who noted that provision of basic infrastructure was key towards improving the living standards of the people at the grassroots, called for synergy among the area councils chairmen with the ACSS, to achieve the target of building vibrant area councils that the residents would be proud of.

He said, “Improved synergy with the Area Councils will encourage the Secretariat build on its achievements in your Area Councils; such as renovation of chief of Yaba Palace, Award of contract for the construction of a double- cell box culvert along Achido – Naharati road.

” Over 70% of the Secretariat’s 2022 Capital Budget Proposal are directed to improving infrastructure in the rural areas among other proposal.” Dantsoho said.

On his part, the Ona of Abaji, Adamu Yunusa pledged to work with the ACSS towards making the people at the grassroots feel the impart of government.

On his part, the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Abdulrahman Ajiya commended the two ministers , Malam Muhammad Musa Bello with Dr Ramatu Tijani Aliyu for their constant support, especially in the provision of pipe borne water as well as end of year palliatives for the people of Abaji.

On tightening the security in Abaji, the Chairman said the Council collaborated with DSS, Vigilante and the Police
to stem the tide of criminality being perpetrated in the area.

He, however called for the support of FCTA in the area of Security to sustain the progress made so far in combating crime in Abaji Area Council.

The Chairman also used the medium to plead for upgrade of Abaji General Hospital, completion of Abaji University as well as provision of good road network to the farm areas to enable farmers convey their farm produce seamlessly to the markets.

Dantsoho and his entourage also visited the chief of Gwargwada with Rubochi to find out what their challenges were, with a view to committing available resources to address them within the year.
