Obiano donates 151 Innoson vehicles to Anambra monarchs

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano at the weekend presented One hundred and fifty one (151) air-conditioned Innoson Ikenga model SUV cars to traditional rulers in Anambra State.

Performing the ceremony at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Governor Obiano explained that the SUV cars presentation to the royal fathers was delayed by the outbreak of Coronavirus and that it is for their use in coordinating affairs within their various domains.

Obiano said “over the years, we have ensured that the remuneration and upkeep of royal fathers are well above all statutory requirements that enable them to perform their duties.”

“Those who are receiving this gift today are distinguished royal fathers who are duly recognized and certified in line with the Anambra Chieftaincy Laws,” he emphasized.

The Governor congratulated the beneficiaries and charged them to continue to keep the peace in their various domains and by extension throughout Anambra state.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the Traditional Rulers, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Agbogidi, confirmed that the Governor takes good care of royal fathers and thanked him for fulfilling the promise of the car gift. He equally assured that the car will be of immense benefit to the members in the performance of their duties and that they will always his government in its efforts to take the state to greater heights.
