We Are In Trouble, Says attacked Benue Community Leader

Supervisory Councillor for Education ,Youth, Sports and Social Services in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State Honourable Williams Sember, has cried to relevant authorities to help stop the spate of killings in the area.

Sember who spoke while addressing journalists shortly after a ” see it yourself visit” to the attacked areas expressed dismay over what he noted has greatly hampered the economic lives of the people.

The AUTHORITY gathered that Sember’s community of Mbamondo recently came under attack by people suspected to be fulani herdsmen.

He said the latest attack claimed nine lives while over 50 persons were injured,with property valued in millions distroyed.

He called on the federal government to wade into the matter with some level of commitment with a view to seen that the constant attacks on his people were cutailed.

Honourable Sember who expressed gratitude to Governor Samuel Ortom over his steps towards ending the incessant killing and sacking of Benue communities by the heardsmen declared that the people of the state were solidly behind him

While receiving Honourable Sember, Traditional ruler in the area Chief Jimin Magaji thanked the Supervisory Councilor over the visit to indentify with them in wake of the attack .

He said, the community had been under attacks by the headers and urged him to take their plight to the appropriate authorities.

He said most of his people had been displaced, causing a humanitarian situation and equally urged that government come to the communities aid in form of assistance.

This medium gathered that also on hand to identify with the community was Honourable Christopher Senev , who is the Senior Special Assistant to governor Samuel Ortom on Community Relations.
