In a statement signed by it’s General Secretary, Elder Actor Zal, NUP said The Nigeria Union of Pensioners condemns in totality the murder of 22 travellers in Jos, Plateau State. The travellers were commuting between Bauchi State and Akure in Ondo State.

The statement further said; “This action is barbaric, satanic and should be condemned by a” and sundry. There is no justifiable reason whatsoever for anyone to take the life of another person. This retrogressive acts is gradually returning our nation back to the old ’Hobbesian’ state of nature, where life is brutish, nasty and short.

“We condemn this dastardly act and call on the government to investigate the matter in order to get to the root cause of the matter and put an end to the incessant killings in the country.

“Equally important, we want the government to beam its search light on the circumstances surrounding the emergence of these travellers in 105 North Local Government, instead of plying through the Federal highways, especially as it coincides with the burial date of the slain 77 villagers in Irigwe Village.

“We therefore call for a total investigation of ail immediate and remote causes of these incidents.”
