Army assures corpers of adequate security during Anambra election

Countdown to the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship polls, the Nigerian Army says Corp members on election duty will be adequately protected.

The assurance was given by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Major General T. A. Lagbaja.


Lagbaja gave this assurance when he received the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim at the Division’s Headquarters in Enugu.


The GOC said residents of the State, likewise will enjoy peace and security before, during and after the exercise.


The GOC praised the NYSC for their contribution to socio-economic development of the country.


He also praised its role in training and mentoring youths as responsible members of the society.
He said their services to the various units Division including the Command Secondary Schools in its Areas of Responsibility was invaluable.


The NYSC Director-General commended the GOC for the Division’s support for NYSC, especially with regards to the welfare and security of Corps Members.


He expressed commitment to further strengthen the cordial relationship between the Scheme and the Nigerian Army.


The Director-General also paid similar visit to the Commander 82 Division Garrison, Brigadier General CA Ataki.
