APC Chair: l’ll provide platform for good governance – Al-Makura

Front line contender to national championship position of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Tanko Al-Makura has said he would provide a platform for good governance if elected chairman.

Al-Makura, a former governor of Nasarawa State, and senator Nasaraea Central senatorial district, stated this on Thursday when members of the Movement for Good Governance visited him at his campaign office in Abuja.

According to him, this is the time for those that believing in the President, Muhammadu Buhari to take up positions of leadership in order to preserve the legacies of the President.

The former governor also commended the group for their support to the President during the elections.

Speaking, Al-Makura said, “I am overwhelmed with the show of love. I thank you for the gesture. And l want to assure that by the special grace of God, there will be a change. This is the time that those of us believing in the President should come and takeover. 

“If l am elected National Chairman, I will provide the platform for good governance and for all Nigerians to showcase their talents.”

In his remarks, the Chairman for the Movement for  Good Governance, Alhaji Umaru Rambo, who is a former Minister of Petroleum said they were in his office because they believe on his vision to lead the party.

Dambo said they had followed his political trajectory and they consider him one of the best candidates for the APC Chairmanship position.

Also, the group Chairman said the position for the APC National Chairmanship was suitable for the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc in the merger that gave birth to APC, stressing that the CPC bloc has remained the only one among the legacy parties that has not produced a national chairman
