My Ekiti connection will be to the benefit of Imo East senatorial district – Akerdolu’s wife

Wife of Ekiti state Governor, Betty Anyanwu – Akeredolu, has declared that the people of Owerri senatorial district would stand to benefit much from her connection with Ekiti state, if she eventually becomes their senator in 2023

Mrs Akeredolu, who has declared her interest in contesting the Imo East senatorial District (Owerri zone) on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says her dual citizenship as Igbo woman married to a Yoruba man is an added advantage of her  aspiration to represent the good people of Owerri  senatorial zone in the Senate.

Anyanwu- Akeredolu disclosed this when she  recently appeared as a Special Guest to the Media Forum organized by members of Imo State Correspondent’s Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ at their Secretariat along Okigwe Road, Owerri.

According to her ” the intense businesses of the Senate, anchors on effective lobbying and bridge building, therefore, being  a totally groomed Igbo woman married to a Yoruba man of repute, it’s advantageous, as the Yoruba’s will see me as their wife while Igbo’s will accord me, my due respect  as their cherished daughter, Ndaa Betty, Ada Owerre, all these will be in the overall benefits of Imo East, am eyeing to represent”.

The Political amazon pointed out a lot of decays in infrastructural and developmental efforts of the senatorial zone, recalling that under Igbo cultural and traditional heritage’s, once things are getting bad, the onus lines on the daughters of the land  called Umuada who are consulted and destined to  fix them, in the  interest of all.

She insisted that, if given the mandate, she’s on a mission to re-fix the senatorial zone by changing her narratives of pity, neglect and marginalization into quatum heaps of  transformation and development.

Anyanwu- Akeredolu who hails from Emeabiam ancient community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state expressed disappointment that most of Nigerian leaders were not patriotic enough in making life meaningful to the populace nor were they prepared to be problem solvers of the people.

She seriously cautioned against gender discrimination even as she applauded NDDC for tarrying the roads that lead to her ancestry community recently on her behalf.

The astute politician insisted that she’s conversant with things happening in the senatorial zone having been spending her Christmas holidays for the past 20 years in the area.
