From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano
Apparently not satisfied with developments in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s representative at the Kano state House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Yusuf Isma’il, along side three other lawmakers, have bid good bye to the party and returned back to their party—the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Hon. Kabiru is representing Madobi Constituency where Kwankwaso, the National Leader and Presidential Candidate of NNPP hails from.
Other lawmakers who dumped NNPP for APC include, member representing Dawakin Kudu local government, Hon. Mu’azzam El-Yakubu, member representing Bagwai/Shanono, Isa Ali, member representing Dambatta state constituency, Hon. Murtala Kore.
A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, indicated that Kano state government and the leadership of the ruling APC are celebrating the return of their members who just last week embarked on political adventure as they left APC to NNPC.
Malam Garba in his Statement, described the mass return of APC members as a welcome development.
According to him, “the gale of defection has recently swept across the NNPP, particularly members of the state and National Assembly.”
He added that the ruling APC has continued to wax stronger, in peace and unity, as it is repositioned to retain political power and remain in government come 2023.
