Resignation from PDP: Ex- Police Service Commission chief backs Obi

By Isaac Ojo

former chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC) Chief Simon Okeke (Ochendo Amichi) has thrown his weight behind the resignation of the former presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Mr Peter Obi from the party.

Chief Okeke noted that the decision by the former PDP presidential aspirant to dump his former political party is a demonstration of sterling qualities the former Anambra State governor is reputed for.

“My good people Ndigbo, especially our younger generation, a typical Igbo should know that  OnyeIgbo with true Igbo blood, pedigree and cherished old values for which lgbos are respected, feared or even envied, cannot take any garbage from any quarters especially from quarters known to be of a lesser breed.

“A breed such as Peter Obis is known to reject a pot of porridge even when he is starving. A visionary and typical Igbo ought to reject tokenism. Whether one likes it or not, Peter Obi is a typical and proud Igbo son who would rather drown than allow himself to disgrace his race or be made an object of ridicule nor live to be a slave to any lesser breed as demonstrated by Igbo slaves who chose to drown in Dunbar Creek ,Pennsylvania USA in 1803 where they were shipped to work as American plantation slaves. They chose to die enmass by drowning rather than live to be slaves.” Ochendo recalled.

The police boss however stressed that the choice of people especially the youths become in life is their individual choices, he said “The choice is yours, some people live and think like ants while others live and think like lions. Decide your preference. Peter Obi has made his choice and that’s where people like me belong, rightly or wrongly. The God we worship is alive and hears our cries for justice. In His own time He will wipe our tears.” Ochendo concluded.

Meanwhile, Coalition for Mr Peter Obi presidency has hailed the former Anambra governor for exiting the Peoples Democratic Party at the nick of time. The chairman of the group, Marcel Ngogbehi urged the former PDP presidential aspirant to form alliance with progressive Nigerians for the actualization of his aspiration.

In another development, a member of PDP who is aspiring to represent Aguata federal constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Chief Andrew Onwura Azike from Aguata council area has also resigned his membership of PDP.

A copy of the letter of his resignation was made available to our correspondent in Awka.
