Plateau 2023: Former INEC REC wins APC guber ticket, as three aspirants stage walk out

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has declared Dr. Nentanwe Yilwatda Goshwe as the winner of its governorship primary election in the State.

Nentawe a former INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State polled a total of 803 votes to beat three other aspirants.

Nine aspirants were in the race before voting commenced, however 5 aspirants withdrew from the contest.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hon. Habu Ajiya, sais those who withdrew from the contest include, Sunday Garba Biggs, Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka and Arch. Steve Fitka.

Also, Deputy Governor, of the State, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, Dr. Patrick Dakum and David Victor Dimka walked out just before voting commenced.

Below are the results declared by the chairman Electoral Committee, Hon. Ajiya, they are as follows;
Dr. Nentawe Yilwada – 803, Dr. Patrick Dakum – 70, Dr. Fitka – 2
David Victor Dimka – 7, Hezekiah Dimka – 6, Garba Pwol SAN – 2,
Danyaro Sarpiya – 4, Sonni Tyoden – 25, Sunday Biggs – 0.

Meantime, the aforementioned aspirants who withdrew from the contest, said they will address the media later.
