Doguwa/Garo Impasse:  Ganduje Makes Peace

From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh,  Kano

Kano State Governor, Dr.  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has finally settled the crisis that had rocked the All Progressive Congress (APC)  in the state,  as the Majority Leader of House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa and the APC Deputy Governorship candidate in the state,  Murtala Sule Garo have agreed to sheathe their swords and work together for the interest and victory of the party in 2023 general elections.

The two APC chieftains had been at daggers drawn recently,  but the intervention of Governor Ganduje has settled the dust raised by their battle of wits.

The AUTHORITY reported last week that Ganduje who had expressed worry over the crisis made plans to call the two party chieftains to a round-table for a peace parley.

Their fight was renewed penultimate Monday when Alhassan  Doguwa representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives was accused of assaulting Sule Garo,  during a meeting at the residence of the state Deputy Governor and Governorship candidate of APC in the 2023 election,  Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.

Doguwa who is the Sardaunan Rano denied the allegation and accused Sule Garo’s supporters of destroying his posters and attacking his convoy.

Peace,  has, however, returned to the ruling party in the state as all warring parties have decided to forget the past and work together for the overall interest of the party.

Doguwa, while featuring  on a Radio political programme  monitored by our Correspondent confirmed that Governor Ganduje has settled him and Sule Garo who is the immediate-past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftqincy Affairs.

He said the reconciliation was spearheaded by Ganduje, who summoned the two warring parties in a meeting with some party leaders in Kano.

According to Doguwa,  “His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has reconciled between me and Murtala Sule Garo.

“He summoned the reconciliatory meeting between us. The meeting was attended by Nasiru Aliko Koki and the state APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas. The meeting started from around 11pm up to 4 am of today (Monday).

“We reviewed the crisis and apologized to each other. The governor told us kind words. He showed each of us where we were wrong. He gave us fatherly advice and said he considers us as his two sons.”

The Majority Leader added that he no longer bear any grudges against Sule Garo and promised to work very hard for the overall victory of APC in Kano and the nation at large.

“The matter is over for me. I will continue my support for the success of APC in 2023. I will continue to support Gawuna/Garo project, Tinubu/Shettima and APC at all levels in 2023,” he said.

Doguwa also said he has forgiven Garo and all other party members who offended him, calling on them, Kano people and the entire APC supporters to also  forgive him.
