FCT youths list demands to president -elect, Tinubu

By Daniel Tyokua

FCT youths have listed key areas of their interest to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu and the 10th National Assembly to address as soon as they start work.

They said Tinubu should work closely with the in -coming 10th National Assembly to create additional area councils and Federal constituencies to make the Abuja residents enjoy more social services.

Converner, FCT Youths Coalition for Tinubu and Shettima, Butrus Garki stated this during a rally in the Federal Capital City (FCT) to celebrate the declaration of Tinubu as the president- elect.

The youths at weekend defied all odds to march through startegic streets in celebration of the victory of Tinubu and Shettima at the just concluded Presidential polls.

Convener of FCT Youths Coalition for Tinubu and Shettima,  Butrus Garki, said the Abuja youths were celebrating because of the known capacity of the President elect in delivering good governance and human capital development.

He noted that Abuja indigenes believe that the Tinubu led administration would bring prosperity to the people and also address all grievances that lead to violent agitation.

Garki explained that the victory came as a result of uneasy calm that had trailed the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission across the country, including the nation’s capital.

According to him, the Abuja youths have faith in the in- coming administration of Bola Tinubu and Kashimu Shettima, to bring about the inclusion that the original inhabitants of Abuja have long yearned for.

Garki lamented that FCT indigenous people have continued to be marginalised in the distribution of government appointments and other benefits of governance.

While he assured the President-elect and his team of full support,  he also demanded that Abuja indigenes should be given their rightful place in the government.

Mohammed Musa, Director of Operations , APC  Presidential Campaign Council in FCT, said that Abuja indigenes and residents have high expectations which they hope the President-elect would fulfil.
