Gov Kefas committed to improving lives of youths, women – Environment Commissioner

The Taraba State Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change, Hajia Aishat Barde has assured youths and women that the state government is committed to promoting policies that would improve their well-being.

Barde told The Authority that the State Governor, Agbu Kefas has shown his commitment to youths and women in the state by his appointment of youths and 7 women as commissioners.

The Commissioner urged the youths and women in the state to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by supporting the various policies of the state government.

She said women and youths are most vulnerable to effects of climate change, hence the state government is determined to tackle it headlong using various means.

According to the Commissioner, “We the youths and women are very appreciative of opportunity given to us by his Excellency, Governor Agbu Kefas to serve our state. It is an opportunity we will ever cherish.

“It is an indication that the governor knows what is needed to improve our well-being. Definitely, we are going to work for the good of our state and support his Excellency deliver on his mandate.

“You are aware, youths and women are most vulnerable to climate change. Governor Agbu Kefas is going to make Taraba State a worthy example of how to tackle climate change. I assure you of that.

The commissioner said the government is aware of other environmental challenges that affects the livelihood of the people, and will work with relevant stakeholders to proffer solutions.
