Salako vows to promote environmental sustainability

The newly inaugurated Minister of State for Environment, Dr Ishaq Salako assumed office with a promise to ensure environmental sustainability for a better society.

He noted that the environment is crucial to human existence, saying that for a country to progress rapidly, it must operate in a safe environment.

According to the Minister, “Our responsibility as the Ministry of Environment is to ensure that the environmental sector demonstrates that Nigeria is truly a giant”

Salako assured of a good working relationship with management and staff of the ministry to achieve set objective of the ministry and the realization of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Representative of the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Environment, the Director Pollution Control and Environmental Health Department, Federal Ministry of Environment, Mr Charles Ikeah promised support for the Minister in the discharge of his duties.

“Let me use this opportunity to assure you of our unalloyed support. Environment is a critical sector, and it touches every sector of our economy. Without factoring in the environment and developmental activities, of course, we will not achieve sustainable development,” he said.
