The chairman Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Haruna Abdullahi has described tax payers as the lifeblood of the service.

He said the dedication and steadfastness of individuals, businesses, and organisations who have consistently fulfilled their tax obligations made the agency to strive well.

Abdullahi explained that the taxes paid by citizens are pivotal in providing essential services, infrastructure development, and sustaining the economic stability of the territory.

He stated this during an event to mark customers’ week in Abuja on Tuesday.

“We recognise that our taxpayers are the lifeblood of our service. We deeply appreciate the dedication and steadfastness of individuals, businesses, and organisations who have consistently fulfilled their tax obligations. The agency pledged his commitment to appreciating excellence, saying it will soon recognise individuals and organisations for dedication to their tax obligation.

He said the recognition is to inspire and motivate others with the believe that highlighting their achievements will encourage a culture of compliance and responsible citizenship among our taxpayers.
