GPMI declares it’s time for governance, urges support for the 10th Senate

Global Peace Movement International, UK has called on Nigerians to support the 10th Senate under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio in their discharge of legislative duties.

The President General of GPMI, Dr. Mike Uyi stated this in Abuja on Monday in a press release that it is time to drop all manner of jokes and unseriousness in the sides of the politicians and the citizens and face governance.

Uyi noted that after the long period of legal battles among some politicians, cases won and lost, it is time to face business of the day, which is to legislate for the.good people of Nigeria.
“The crop of the present members of the 10th assembly especially the Senate are politicians of reputes and have distinguished themselves in the past before coming to the Senate and are currently occupying different positions.

“Senator Godswill Akpabio is a man who’s leadership qualities is second to none in terms of human and capital development and with records that have stood the test of time can be seen as a visionary leader”.
Uyi said Akpabio’s choice and support by party stalwarts across the country was not a misplaced but a good decision that would help the senate and unite Nigeria in the long run.

He said, barely a month after the inauguration of the 10th Senate under Akpabio’s leadership has proven to have its sight set on the stability of the country and offering robust legislative synergy to the Executive for the benefit of all Nigerians.

According to him, the Senate President possesses sterling leadership qualities to lead a united, cohesive and progressive Parliament that would work for the unity, development and progress of the country.

“His senate presidency will herald a new era of development like the “uncommon development” era that Akwa Ibom State experienced when Akpabio served as governor between 2007 and 2015, which will be recreated at the federal level,” he said.

He enjoined all Senators and Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations, to rally behind the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio for a good people-oriented policies.
