By Daniel Tyokua

The acting Managing Director, Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe has said there are ongoing plans to strengthen the agency’s activities for effective service delivery.

He stated this during the opening of a two-week training programme facilitated by the German Agency for International Co-operation (GIZ) tagged: “Trainer Facilitator and Coach”, at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Tony Odey, Team Lead, Corporate Communications Unit of the Agency, said the reformation initiative is targeted towards improved service delivery to residents of the FCT and Nigerians at large, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

It said the ongoing reformations being carried out under his watch were possible because of the enabling environment provided by the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike as well as the support of the Minister of State, FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud.

Ezirigwe explained that the repositioning became necessary in view of the Agency’s firm commitment to ensure it continues to deliver top notch professional entrepreneurial development services geared towards stimulating business growth in the nation’s capital city and beyond.

The Business Development Service expert who enjoined the participants to take the training exercise seriously in view of its immense importance, stressed the need for Staff to redouble their commitment and dedication as the Agency seeks new frontiers in a bid to expand its partnership outreach.

In his remarks, the Rector of Kaduna Business School, Dr Dahiru Sani commended AEA for deepening the Territory’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, adding that the Agency has the capacity to make Abuja the Silicon Valley of Nigeria.

According to him, entrepreneurship development is the only way out of the country’s unemployment and economic quagmire. He therefore, appealed to Government at all levels to support all efforts geared towards promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Earlier, Head, GIZ Component, Economic Education & Entrepreneurship, Ms. Olawaiye Oladoyin said the training has been structured in an engaging manner, considering its experiential nature while acknowledging the positive contributions of AEA in bridging the challenges associated with access to finance by most SMEs.
