Jikwoyi landlords want FG to withdraw AEDC operational license

By Chuks Oyema-Aziken

The Jikwoyi Landlords’ Association have demanded the withdrawal of operational license of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, over persistent poor power supply.

The Landlords in a press release on Sunday said AEDC has shown that it lacks capacity to provide power to its customers.

They said the epileptic power service being provided, coupled with high estimated electricity bills have cast doubt on the ability of the AEDC Jikwoyi to meet the demands of the Jikwoyi community and environ.

The press release signed by Bassey Peter, Public Relations Officer for the President General, Jikwoyi Landlords’ Association said the unpatriotic attitude of the AEDC has led to loss of livelihoods of some persons and inflicted serious inconsistencies on inhabitants of our community.

He said “The Jikwoyi Landlords’ Association has therefore strongly advised AEDC to step up its services in the provision of power, replacement of obsolete poles, cables, provision of electricity meters and avoid bills that are not consumed by customers.

“The Association will not hesitate to take appropriate measures to address this unwholesome attitude of the Jikwoyi AEDC if there is no improvement within three days.

“The Association is also using this medium to call on the Federal Government to withdraw the operational licence of AEDC for the economic damage it has inflicted on the nation and citizens. Its only appropriate for AED to own up its lack of capacity to provide the required services to Nigerians and honourably quite for more committed firms with capacity.
