APC begins e-registration of members with NIN

By Chesa Chesa

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has commenced the process of electronic registration of its members worldwide, but must be authenticated with the National Identity Number (NIN) of registrants.

National Chairman of the party, Umar Ganduje, disclosed this on Wednesday during the opening session of the e-membership registration train-the-trainer workshop organised by the party in Abuja, where he also hinted that the e-registration could be a condition for getting endorsement for political contest, patronage/appointment from the party.

He stressed that those members whose names appear on the digital register would be considered as true and faithful members of the APC.

This process would drive the planning, decision-making and projection process, as well serve as basis of reference for any party member seeking appointment at any level or desiring to contest an election, he pointed out.

“The APC and portal on which the prospective trainees from the Thirty-Six (36) States and FCT, Abuja are expected to use will soon be reactivated so that the existing and new members can go online to register and join our Party from any part of the world.

“Each person is expected to provide his or her biometric data which must tally with the details captured in the National Identity Number (NIN)”, he stated.

He appealed to the trainers drawn from across the States, to learn from the programme and go back to your respective states to impart same knowledge to those who will be engaged in this registration exercise.

Ganduje further reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of APC to set new standards and benchmarks in the nation’s democratic sphere and ensure the sustenance and continuation of the APC government at all levels.

The project coordinator, Engr. Samuel Adedapo Adedoyin described the Members Registration Portal as a comprehensive digital solution designed to streamline and enhance the process of member registration, management, and engagement for organizations.

“This platform addresses the inefficiencies and limitations of traditional paper-based or fragmented digital registration systems, providing a unified and user friendly interface for both members and administrators”, he explained.

The event was attended by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy; and Minister of Science and Technology, as well as top officials of the APC.
