The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Territory, Christopher Maikalangu has commenced payment of the N70,000 minimum wage as approved by the federal government.

It explained that the move demonstrates the chairman’s commitment to the well-being of his employees and a positive precedent for other council chairmen in the FCT to emulate.
According to him “This decision is a testament to my commitment to good governance and my dedication to the welfare of my employees.”
He further explained that the payment of the minimum wage would boost employee morale and productivity, ultimately benefiting the community.
The Chairman also highlighted the positive impact of fair compensation on the community, stating that “when workers are fairly compensated, they are more productive and better equipped to provide quality services to the community.
