Heartland FC Set to Resume Pre-Season Training, July 21st

There are serious indications that Heartland Football Club of Owerri has advanced plans to resume preparations for the 2025/2026 football season forthcoming Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

The club announced this in a statement signed by the Team Manager, Mmaduabuchi Osuorji, on the directive of the Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke.

However, stakeholders are still in suspense whether the club will be playing, Nigeria National League, NNL as they were relegated at the end of last season, even as there’s strong rumour, that Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has bought over a slot as usual in Nigeria Premier League Football, NPFL to enable them play in the nation’s apex league for the season.

Meanwhile, press statement emanating from the club on Wednesday has directed that, all players, officials, and members of the technical crew of the football club are expected to report at the stadium by 7:00 AM prompt on the expected day of resumption for the commencement of training and other pre-season activities.

The club also stressed the need for puntuality and full readiness as it gears up for a new football era in its historical records.

“This is to formally inform all players and technical staff of Heartland Football Club Owerri that resumption of duties is scheduled for July 21, 2025, by 7:00 AM at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“All team members are expected to report promptly and in full readiness as we begin preparations for the new phase.”the statement read.

It’s pertinent to observe that Amuneke, who took over the technical leadership of the club last season, is reportedly instituting a new culture at Heartland FC, which anchors on discipline, dedication, and professionalism as cornerstones of his vision.

The club’s management is of the view that these values will define their push for greater achievements in the coming season.
