By Mercy Aikoye, Abuja

In a bid to further cement their strategic partnership, Transcorp Hilton Abuja paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ-FCT) Council on August 1, 2025. The hotel’s delegation, led by Commercial Director Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi and E-Commerce Manager Ijeoma Osuji, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing relationship between the hotel and the NUJ-FCT Council.

Notably, Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi and Ijeoma Osuji are the first women to hold their respective positions at Transcorp Hilton Abuja, marking a significant milestone for the hotel.

“We are proud to be breaking barriers and leading the way for future generations,” said Aguiyi-Ironsi.

The NUJ-FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, welcomed the delegation and praised the hotel for its hospitality and media partnership.

“We appreciate Transcorp Hilton Abuja for graciously hosting the NUJ FCT 2025 Press Week Public Lecture. We look forward to more collaborations,” she said.

Comrade Ike described Transcorp Hilton Abuja as a key media partner in championing development. “Journalists in the FCT look forward to Hilton reviving the annual cocktail party—bringing together reporters and top senior editors after a year’s hectic work,” she added.

Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi emphasized the importance of the media in national development. “We see the media as partners in progress. Your publicity ensures we get the visibility we deserve,” she said. Ijeoma Osuji reiterated the hotel’s appreciation for the media support received from the NUJ-FCT Council.

Miss Osuji noted that all media partners are valued, as the hotel’s relevance is largely credited to the media.
“We appreciate the NUJ-FCT Council’s support and look forward to continued collaboration,” she said.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja has consistently won awards on travel tours with the NUJ-FCT Hospitality award, a testament to their successful partnership. The hotel’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction has earned them recognition within the industry.

The visit concluded with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations and mutual growth. As Comrade Grace Ike aptly put it, “We look forward to more fruitful partnerships and continued success.” With this strengthened partnership, both Transcorp Hilton Abuja and the NUJ-FCT Council are poised for even greater achievements.
