Alia makes new appointments, constitutes statutory boards

‎Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has introduced fresh faces in his latest appointments into various offices and also constituted statutory boards for some commissions in the State all to reinvigorate governance.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, in a statement said the appointments are with immediate effect.

‎The statement named Linda Ene Agada as Special Adviser to the Governor on MSMEs/Microfinance; Hon. James Tor, Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation & Special Duties; Dr. Shadrach Ukuma, Director-General, Arts, Culture & Tourism; and Tivlumun Bulya, Personal Assistant (PA) on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.

‎Other appointments, as disclosed by the Governor’s spokesman, were for the Benue State Pension Commission which now has Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas as Chairman; with Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius, member; Asen Sambe, member, and the Special Adviser, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, also as member.

Other members are the State Commissioner for Finance; Chairman, Local Government Service Commission; Head of Service; and Director-General, Benue State Planning Commission.

‎Similarly, Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) now has Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa as Chairman; with Andrew Aondofa Chila, member; Ashi Iortyom Donald, member; John Ochonye Oyishoma, member; Commissioner for Trade & Industry, member; and the Commissioner for Justice/ Attorney General of the State as member.

‎As to Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Kula stated that the Governor approved Ande Clement Shianti as member; Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah, member; Elizabeth Onekele, member; a representative of Ministry of Finance, member; and a representative of Ministry of Agriculture, also as member.

Kula further noted that ‎Gov. Alia urged the newly appointed officials to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties.
