The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike on Monday , inspected two key roads in Abuja, hinting at their completion.
Speaking after the inspection, Wike said the N2 road that connects Central Area to Wuse zone 3 would be ready in June next year , while the N5 road which connects Life Camp junction to Old Keffi road (Dei-Dei), will be delivered January ending, 2026.
He said, the contractors; Levant and Julius Berger have assured him that the road projects will be completed in the record time.
Wike commended the contractors for a quality job done so far, especially the bridge connecting the Lifecamp junction to Old Keffi road (Dei-Dei).
On the completed bus terminals in the territory, the Minister said the contractors have started the procurement process and would be completed before the end of 2025.
He said, “We went to inspect the N2 road that connects Central Area to Wuse zone 3, and that is being carried out by Levant. I saw the earthwork is ongoing, and the contractor has assured us that God willing, by the end of May, next year, which is the first week of June, they will have completed that road, which is very key.
“The N5 road, which is being handled by Julius Berger. For those of you who are familiar, we have been here several times when this bridge was ongoing. But today, we are on top of the bridge. And you have heard what Julius Berger said, by January ending next year, they will have also delivered this project.
“So we are hopeful. We are very happy with the quality of the job done. In fact, where we are standing is amazing if you had followed us when this road started. So we are happy that they have gone this far. With the quality we have seen, we are very,” Wike said.
