Gov. Idris inaugurates APP consensus panel in Kebbi

The Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has inaugurated a Consensus Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to harmonize the interests of aspirants ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

Performing the inauguration, Governor Idris stated that the committee was constituted to bring together all party members who purchased nomination forms to contest various elective positions, with a view to achieving consensus and strengthening unity within the party.

He noted that, in line with prevailing electoral guidelines, only consensus and direct primaries are recognized, expressing confidence that the APC in Kebbi State would successfully adopt consensus, given its tradition of peace, loyalty, and discipline.

The Governor emphasized that the committee comprises seasoned politicians and respected leaders with proven integrity and experience, who are well-positioned to deliver on the assignment.

He charged members to engage all stakeholders, reconcile differences among aspirants, and ensure a smooth and acceptable consensus arrangement that will move the party forward.

Governor Idris further expressed optimism that the committee would develop a clear roadmap for consensus, stressing that their work is crucial to maintaining the cohesion and electoral strength of the APC in Kebbi State.

He then officially declared the committee inaugurated and urged members to commence work immediately.

Members of the committee include: Ambassador Saidu Nasamu Dakingari (Chairman); Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu Jarma; APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru; State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Gari Mallam; Executive Chairman, SRRBDA, Abubakar Muhammad (Birnin Kebbi); Alhaji Attahiru Machido; Chief of Staff, Government House, Umar Idris Buro; Justice Suleiman Muhammad Ambursa Rtd; and Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, SSG, who serves as Secretary/Member.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, its Chairman, Ambassador Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them.
