Get your PVC now, APC chairmen task party members

By Chesa Chesa

The Forum of State Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged party members and other eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that voter registration remains the only way to participate in the electoral process.

The appeal was made on Thursday at the end of the inaugural meeting of the forum held in Abuja, where the chairmen also endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 elections and pledged continued support for his administration.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the Forum and Lagos State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, said the gathering brought together both newly elected and returning APC state chairmen from across the country.

He said the forum extensively reviewed party affairs and national issues and resolved to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Ojelabi said the forum had resolved to embark on aggressive mobilisation to ensure that all eligible supporters of the party obtain their PVCs before the close of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

According to him, no matter the level of support for the APC or the President, citizens without PVCs would be unable to exercise their right to vote.

“We therefore collectively resolve to use every available means to encourage those yet to obtain their PVCs to go out and do so,” he said.

The forum noted that broad participation in the voter registration exercise would strengthen democratic engagement and ensure that more Nigerians have a voice in determining the country’s future.

It congratulated the President on emerging as the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 elections and commended his administration’s efforts in tackling security challenges across the country.

The APC chairmen also sympathised with victims of insecurity and their families, while expressing confidence in the measures being implemented by the Federal Government to restore peace and stability.

They further praised the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) for what they described as the successful and peaceful conduct of the APC primaries nationwide.

The forum equally congratulated all candidates who emerged from the primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, including governorship candidates, members of the National Assembly and state assembly aspirants.
