The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the postponement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State.
The scheme said the postponement became necessary due to the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, following extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm.
In a press statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the scheme, Caroline Embu, the camp is currently undergoing repairs by the Niger State Government to restore facilities affected by the storm.
According to the statement, NYSC management is making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the orientation exercise.
“Consequently, NYSC Management is making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the Orientation Course.
“A new commencement date and other relevant details will be communicated to affected prospective corps members in due course,” the statement said.
The management expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to prospective corps members and their families, while appealing for understanding and cooperation.
It also assured affected corps members that updates regarding the new orientation schedule would be communicated as soon as arrangements are concluded.
