The Covenant Nation (TCN) Karu Branch has celebrated its first anniversary with thanksgiving, attributing its rapid growth and impact to God’s faithfulness and a commitment to evangelism and discipleship.
Speaking during the anniversary celebration held last Sunday in Karu, the Campus Pastor of TCN Karu, Pastor Lekan Folorunsho, described the church’s first year as a testimony of divine grace and numerous blessings.
According to him, members gathered to express gratitude to God for His faithfulness since the branch was inaugurated.
“We truly appreciate God, and it is out of a heart of gratitude that we gathered to give Him praise for the wonderful things He has been doing. The Lord has been faithful to us on every side,” he said.
Folorunsho noted that the church had witnessed several testimonies over the past year, including what he described as remarkable growth in families within the congregation.
He revealed that in the month of May alone, six babies were born to families attending the church.
“If I begin to count the testimonies, they are beyond measure. In the month of May alone, we recorded about six newborn babies, even in this relatively young church. It is all about God’s faithfulness towards us, and we have every reason to give Him praise,” he said.
Looking ahead, the pastor said the church would remain focused on its core mandate of winning souls for Christ and nurturing believers through discipleship.
He explained that every programme, strategy and prayer of the church would continue to revolve around bringing people to the knowledge of Christ and helping them grow spiritually.
“Our assignment is to ensure that people in this environment come to know God, give their lives to Christ, and afterwards are discipled to grow into the fullness of Christ. Everything we do is tailored towards achieving these goals, and we trust God to grant us greater success in the years ahead,” he added.
Also speaking, Deacon Kayode Adewakun explained that TCN, which stands for The Covenant Nation, was established following what he described as divine direction received by the church’s Lead Pastor, Pastor Poju Oyemade.
He said the church is committed to raising believers who live according to God’s Word and purpose.
“The Covenant Nation is a gathering of believers focused on living the life God has prepared for us by following His instructions,” he said.
Adewakun recalled that the church initially had only one Abuja branch at the Abuja Continental Hotel before expanding to establish additional worship centres in Karu and Kubwa.
According to him, the vision is to build a community of believers who trust God, live according to biblical principles and reflect God’s glory in their daily lives.
On the increasing attendance and spiritual revival being experienced at the Karu branch, Adewakun attributed the development to the work of the Holy Spirit.
“This move is born by the Spirit of God. We are simply following His leading, and He is doing great things. We are seeing lives transformed, people saved, believers established and encouraged through God’s Word. That is what Christianity is all about,” he said.
The anniversary celebration featured praise, worship and thanksgiving as members reflected on the church’s first year and expressed optimism about its future.
