President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Mr. Mark Okoye, Managing Director of the South-East Development Commission (SEDC), on the occasion of his 40th birthday, praising his contributions to public service and national development.

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, the President commended Okoye’s 14-year record in public service, describing him as a dedicated and resilient leader whose career reflects a commitment to excellence.

Okoye, who turns 40 on June 15, previously served as Managing Director of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency. He also held positions as Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State and later Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners.

The President urged the SEDC chief not to relent in delivering on the commission’s mandate, stressing the importance of sustained commitment to regional growth and economic transformation.

Tinubu further described himself as a youth-centric leader and expressed confidence in the capacity of young Nigerians serving in leadership positions to contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.

According to him, the presence of young innovators and reform-minded public officials such as Okoye offers hope for a brighter future for Nigeria.
