Participants in the ongoing screening exercise for the recruitment of health workers in Taraba State have commended Governor Agbu Kefas for approving the employment of additional healthcare personnel to strengthen service delivery across the state.
They also lauded the governor for appointing experienced technocrats to manage the health sector, including the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bodiya Buma; the Executive Secretary of the Health Services Management Board, Dr. Garba Danjuma; and the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Ebenezer Apake, whom they credited with improving the state’s healthcare system.
Speaking with our correspondent in Jalingo during the screening exercise, one of the participants, Mr. Aliyu Amos, said Governor Kefas had taken a bold step by addressing the shortage of health workers, which he noted had persisted in the state over the past five years.
According to Aliyu, the health sector has continued to witness remarkable improvements since Governor Kefas assumed office, attributing the progress to the appointment of competent technocrats to oversee the sector.
Also speaking, Mrs. Ruth Dogara said Governor Kefas had taken a step that previous administrations failed to consider for many years.

“In fact governor Kefas will be remembered for resuscitating the lost hope and our collective prayer is for God to continue to guide him and enable his administration to succeed,” one them said.
Commenting on the exercise, the Executive Secretary of the Health Services Management Board, Dr. Garba Danjuma, said the state government had approved the recruitment of 400 health workers for healthcare facilities across the state.
According to him, Governor Agbu Kefas deserves commendation for the various reforms introduced in the health sector, including the renovation of healthcare facilities and the provision of modern medical equipment. He called on residents of the state to continue supporting the administration in its efforts to achieve its development objectives.
