Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Imo State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has inaugurated the party’s State Campaign Council, charging members to take the campaign to every local government area, ward, polling unit and community across the State.
Uzodimma gave the charge last Monday, at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre (EIICC), Owerri, during the inauguration of the campaign council.
He said the primary mandate of the council was to mobilise massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates contesting the Presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly elections in 2027.
Describing the APC as a formidable political platform committed to socio-economic transformation, the governor urged members of the council to regard their appointments as a call to national service, requiring discipline, unity, strategic planning and sustained grassroots engagement.
He stressed that the party’s campaign must move beyond the urban centres and establish a strong presence in local communities, where direct interaction with voters would be critical to electoral success.
“Our Campaign Council must establish an active presence at the local government, ward, and polling-unit levels. Candidates across all levels—from the National Assembly to the State House of Assembly—must operate as a unified team to communicate our Party’s transformative achievements,” Uzodimma stated.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the APC’s political structures across Imo State, saying the move was necessary to support President Tinubu’s development agenda and position the party for victory in the 2027 elections.
Earlier, the APC National Vice Chairman, South East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, said the campaign council had a clear responsibility to win the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
“The mandate before us is clear: to secure victory in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly elections,” Arodiogbu said.
He cautioned members against internal divisions and personal ambitions, urging them to adopt a bottom-to-top campaign structure anchored on collective strategy and party unity.
Also speaking, the Imo State APC Chairman, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, directed members of the campaign council to commence immediate door-to-door mobilisation across the 27 local government areas of the State.
