From John Silas, Lagos
Moniebook, the business management platform under the Moniepoint Group, recently hosted a merchant mixer that brought a cross-section of its merchant community for an evening of networking, conversation and shared experiences. Titled “An Evening with Moniebook,” the event marked the platform’s first major gathering since its launch last year, providing an opportunity for business owners to connect with the Moniebook team, explore the platform’s latest features and learn more about other services available across the Moniepoint Group.
As the world marked Customer Service Week, Moniebook used the occasion to underscore the value it places on genuine merchant relationships.
Merchants in the Lagos food and hospitality sector, including national brands such as Eat n Go, the franchise group behind Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and Pinkberry Gourmet Frozen Yoghurt — and Fruity Life, the healthy food and beverage brand joined the gathering alongside business owners from retail, logistics, professional services and healthcare. The mix reflected the breadth of the Moniebook merchant base using its solutions to manage their operations.
The mixer was structured to give merchants direct access to the people and products behind the platform. Attendees heard from the Moniebook leadership team, received a live demonstration of the platform’s latest features, and were introduced to the broader Moniepoint Group ecosystem, spanning Monnify’s payment infrastructure, business loans and savings products. The open floor session proved particularly generative, with merchants sharing experiences, raising questions and communicating their needs directly to the team.
The evening also served a strategic purpose. Following the acquisition of Orda Africa earlier this year, the platform took the opportunity to formally introduce former Orda merchants to Moniebook’s tools and to the wider Moniepoint ecosystem. The gathering reflected the Group’s one-customer philosophy: that regardless of which Moniepoint product a merchant enters through, the full suite of what the Group offers should be within reach.
Speaking at the event, Kolawole Osinowo, Head, Business Management Tools at Moniebook, said: “We built Moniebook to help businesses manage their day-to-day operations more effectively. Bringing our merchants together gave us an opportunity to hear directly from them, understand their experiences and learn how we can serve them better. Their feedback will help shape what we build next, and we look forward to creating more opportunities for our merchants to connect with us and with one another.”
The event received positive feedback from attendees, with several merchants expressing interest in more opportunities to engage with the Moniebook team and fellow business owners.
Through engagements like this, Moniebook continues to build a community of business owners while developing tools that help them manage their operations more effectively.
