As presidential aspirants under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) intensifies lobbying, former senate president, Bukola Saraki, met with critical stakeholders and delegates from Benue state on Sunday
The presidential hopeful who was at the Benue Governor,s Lodge, to canverse for votes, lamented the spate of insecurity in the country, insisting that conscious efforts must be made to tackle the challenges to the barest minimum under his watch.
According to him, “during my leadership we shall explore partnership with neighbouring countries to ensure cases of insurgency as well as other vices are totally wiped away with the aim to restore peace in the country, if am giving the mandate.”
The former Kwara state Governor further recalled the efforts made by legendary Senator J.S Tarka, late Aper Aku, Solomon Lar, and others, who he noted fought very hard to sustenance of unity and progress in the North Central including the entire nation.
“Therefore the prevalence circumstances have shown that our region never benefited from the plum job of presidency since inception of the present civil dispensation and now, it is our turn to produced the next president after having supported other geopolitical zones in the last 23 years of democratic rule in the country.”
Earlier, Governor Samuel Ortom who had described Saraki as son of the soil, pledged to canvass support for him towards ensuring realisation of the noble intention.
