DSS, partners rescue 5 aid workers abducted by ISWAP

The Department of State Services, (DSS) in conjunction with strategic stakeholders/partners has rescued five aid workers abducted by fighters of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The aid workers were abducted along the Monguno-Maiduguri road on the 22nd of December 2019.

DSS spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya stated that they where rescued on Wednesday 15/01/20.

He said those rescued are Jennifer Samuel Ukumbong (Alliance for International Medical Action, (ALIMA), Asabe Cletus Musa, Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), Adamu Auwal Ozeshi, Arthur Ibojekwe Chima (Solidarity International) and George Danbaba Micheal (International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

The DSS PRO said they are all in good health and are being debriefed as appropriate.
