KEBBI, LECAN Called on KEDCO to take maintenance responsibility on Electricity equipments

License Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN) kebbi state, have called on distribution company to take responsibilities in maintenance of electrical equipment’s across the state.

The leader of the association Engineer Hammed Yakubu Tanko made this called at the Abdullahi Fodio palace when he lead official of LECAN to pay a courtesy visit to the emir of Gwandu yesterday.

Hemmed laments that kaduna electricity distribution company (KEDCO) only takes ownership of electrical equipments that where purchase by the state government but refused to take responsibility of maintain these equipments, He there fore called on the Kaduna distribution company to take responsibility of maintenance of these transformers and other electrical equipments in other to served the customers right, now that the raining season in fast approaching.

Meanwhile Engineer Hamed said they are at the palace to also sensitize the people on the responsibility of LECAN which is to certify the wayaring of houses before connection to power supply he therefore admonished that people should always invites license electrical engineers whenever they are wayaring their houses to avoid fire out break.

Speaking earlier the special adviser to the Governor on electricity matters Alhaji Yusuf Haruna Rasheed said electricity remain a priority to the administration of governor Atiku Bagudu, he therefore assure that the Governor is doing everything possible to sustain the unterrupted power supply to the people in the state. he there for urged distribution company to always maintain and support government efforts. He also pleaded with customers to pay their monthly bill.

Responding the emir of gwandu Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar has thanked the association for their visit, He urged the people to always support government policy and programs in other to improve their living standard. The Royal father therefore called for a stakeholders meeting in other to resolved challenges facing the electricity supply in the state. Adding that the meeting will help in addressing issues that remain unresolved between the government and distribution company and the customers in the state.

The Authority correspondent gathered that Licensed Electrical Contractor Association of Nigeria LECAN is a licensed registered body established with the aim of bringing together competent licensed contractors for safe electrical works
