Southern group congratulates Akeredolu on S/Court election victory

The leadership of the Coalition of Southern Groups (CSG) has congratulated the governor of Ondo state, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu over his supreme court election victory.

Recall that the supreme court recently upheld the victory of the governor at the polls.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the head of publicity and communication, Prince Mike Newgent Ekamon said that the judgement has put a stop on the leadership tussle in Ondo State and will motivate the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum focus on delivering the dividend of democracy to the good people of the State.

He further said that the coalition backs the position of the Southern Nigeria Frontier on its publication in the Vanguard on the 2nd of August, 2021 through its spokesman, Olufemi Lawson  where it says ”we will not provoke war but never are we going to run for anybody on our land”.         

 He maintained that the peoples of southern Nigerian are peace loving, intelligent and focused and would not be ready to exchange bitter words with elements that are not ready to think positively towards the progress and prosperity of Nigeria.

In addition, the head of mobilization and organization, Ambassador Harrison Okey Okoh clarified that more than 59 political pressure groups have already indicated interest to be part of the proposed political open conference where serious matters on progress and development of southern states will be discussed. ”Its time to be proactive in our struggle to make peace and progress in the Southern States”. He said.
