2023:-Our job is to find solution to Nigeria problems, says Peter Obi

The Presidential Candidate of Labour in the 2023 presidential election. Mr Peter Obi, yesterday assured Nigerians that if he is elected as the next president of the country, his administration will dwell more on how to find solutions to the numerous of Nigeria, and not apportioning blames on previous administrations for the mistakes of the past.

Mr Obi made the disclosure while speaking on theme ‘State of the Nation – The Way Forward’ ,at an Interractive session organised by University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN) businness school for the major party’s presidential candidates.
Obi boasted that among the major three presidential candidates, he is the most competent with capacity to stir the country out of it,s present socio economic quagmire.

His words,’Nigerians want leaders they can trust.Our job is to find solutions to solve the problems of Nigeria. Don’t go to tell us what those who were before did not do’.

‘We want competent people,People who have capacity. We want people who have compassion’.

Lamenting the poor state of the nation at the moment. the Labour Party Presidential candidate said Nigeria’s economy will not remain in the woods if he becomes the next civilian president of the country. promising to invest on the various untapped potentials to quicken the nation’s economic growth.

For instance. Obi said that the dredging of both Rivers Niger and Benue would create lots of opportunities in the Agro sector and subsidiary investments, stating the two rivers are cabable of gingering new economic initiatives for Nigeria. just as River Nile is doing for Egypt.

In a brief chat with news men. the Director General of UNN businness school, Professor Onwumere, disclosed the concept behind propelling Interractive sessions with the major Presidential candidates is to focus the attention of the attention of whomever becomes the next president of Nigergia on the imperatives of gingering new ideas to enhance the nation’s economic growth.

He disclosed that invitations to feature in the UNN businness school interactives was equally extended to the presidential candidate of APC, PDP and New Nigeria Political Party(NNPP). But Pete Obi of Labour Party is the first to respond. He expressed hope that the others would respond at later dates.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate also went to Nsukka campus of University of Nigeria for another interaction with the university community, late afternoon came back to Enugu to participate in the mega rally of the party held at Okpara square.

Addressing a mammoth crowd who patiently waited for his arrival, Obi reassured that he will reduce the high poverty rate in Nigeria drastically, if he is elected in the February 25.presidential election.

Obi stated,’ Nigeria is a country of 200 million people with more than 133 million people living in poverty. Nigeria has more poor people than that of India and China combined. We cannot continue this way. We cannot continue to watch our people suffer’.

Obi said he is in the presidential not because he is an Igbo man but as a Nigerian who has the competency, the character and capability to rule Nigeria.

His words,’Every tribe is suffering in Nigeria. The election is not going to be about Religion but competency. I am not contesting because I am an Igbo man. I am contesting because I am the best candidate.We want opportunity to change Nigeria. A new Nigeria is possible’.

‘In the past 24 years PDP and APC leadership of the country cannot reconstruct Enugu to Onitsha express road, a distance of about 100 kilometre only and Enugu to Port Harcourt road, a distance of about 150 kilometer. They must go’, Obi stated.
