Reps commit to Nigeria’s urban/rural development

In a bid to prioritize sustainable and inclusive communities, the House of Representatives has reaffirmed its commitment to effective urban and rural development.

The Chairman House Commitee on Urban and Rural Development, Hon. Awaji-inombek Abiante who stated this, during the inaugural meeting of the House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning in Abuja, stressed the significance of addressing critical issues related to infrastructure development, housing, transportation, and environmental conservation.

While calling for a collaborative approach among stakeholders to tackle these challenges comprehensively, he said the committee would diligently work on drafting comprehensive policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing both urban and rural areas in the country.

Expressing his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the committee’s work is carried out with the utmost integrity, the lawmaker said that the Committee will genuinely serve the best interests of the communities it seeks to improve.
