Give FUHSO a quality job, Prof. Ujah charges contractors

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, (FUHSO), Professor Innocent Ujah, has charged the Consultants and contractors handling the construction of the University’s Gate House and perimeter fencing of the permanent site at Akwete-Akpa, to deliver an excellent job within record time.

Prof.Ujah made the charge on Friday when he officially handed over the approved drawings for the construction of the University’s gatehouse and perimeter fencing to the Consultants, Arc. Chijioke Ebegbulem who thereafter presented the same to the Contractors at the permanent site in Otukpo.

According to Prof. Ujah, “I am thankful to God who has enabled me to start the New Year with the construction of the iconic projects, which I call, the gateway to FUHSO”.

The Vice-Chancellor who expressed joy noted that “it is expected that the projects would be completed within record time because world-class access to the University is very key, knowing fully well that the Senate and the Administrative buildings, College of Medicine, Departments of Physics and Microbiology, Students’ hostel and Principal Officers’ quarters were under construction”.

The Professor of Obstetrics and Consultant Gynaecologist therefore, enjoined the Contractors to make hay while the sun shines and ensure timely completion of the duo projects to enable the University to concentrate on other projects.

While commending the Consultants and the Contractors for their outstanding reputations, the Chief Executive Officer of FUHSO called for the speedy delivery of the projects, admonishing that standards must not be compromised.

Prof. Ujah on behalf of the management, commiserated with the Managing Director, Cubes Consults, Arc. Chijioke Ebegbulem over the death of his father, stressing that, although the Managing Director was mourning the passing to glory of his dad, he still ensured that work continued on other projects at the project sites. He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and implored Architect Chijioke Ebegbulem to strictly adhere to the specifications, which his organization is known for.

Responding, the MD, Cubes Consults, Arc. Ebegbulem thanked the Vice Chancellor and his team for keeping faith with them. He thereafter presented the drawings to the Contractors, with a charge on them to deliver the projects according to the contractual agreement.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Intra Engineering and Turnkey Limited, Abuja, Engr. Agaba Ikwue hailed the Vice-Chancellor and Principal Officers of the University for finding them worthy, noting that their antecedent on standards stands tall.

‘’We are known for quality projects and timely delivery, and assure the University, stakeholders, and the host communities that my Company would hit the ground running, and deliver the project on time”, Ikwue assured.

The Director of Physical Planning (DPP), of the University, Arc. Jonah Akogwu earlier presented the drawings to the Vice Chancellor. The project is funded by TETfund.
