The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, (FUHSO), Benue State, Professor Innocent Ujah, has disclosed that the University will move to its permanent site at Akwete-Akpa, as soon as possible.
The Vice-Chancellor who made this known when he paid an unscheduled visit to the site, described the progress made so far as massive and charged the Contractors to expedite the pace of work to meet the expected target date while warning against sub-standard work.
According to Prof Ujah, the development of FUHSO’s permanent site is a race against time, asserting that from the progress report, the University would move to its permanent site before the end of 2024.
Some of the projects inspected by the Vice-Chancellor included the College of Medicine, Senate and Administrative buildings, Physics and Microbiology Departments, students’ hostel as well as the Principal Officers’ quarters and the VC’s lodge.
The University took off and has been operating from its temporary accommodation in Otukpo with the inconvenience of lack of space.
