FCT-IRS launches e-portal for tax collection, payment

The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has launched an e-portal platform for tax collection and payment.

Acting chairman of the Service, Haruna Abdullahi during the unveiling of the portal on Tuesday , said the portal idea was conceived with the aim of making tax collection and tax payment easy.

He explained that the electronic payment will help bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, and further propel tax management into the digital age.

Abdullahi added that the platform is a symphony of evolution of processes, seamlessly harmonizing convenience, transparency, and accountability

He stated that the platform would also harness the power of technology to enable both taxpayers and tax administrators to interact in a transparent, efficient, and user-friendly manner.

According to him, “The e-portal is our collection, receipting, assessment, and TCC issuance platform with the embedding of every service of revenue management.

“It stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to our mission, which is to provide effective and efficient tax administration through continuous innovation.

“Gone are the days of cumbersome paperwork and long waiting times.
Instead, we are welcoming a new era where taxpayers can navigate their obligations with ease and efficiency, all at the click of a button from the comfort of their homes or offices.

“Whether you’re an individual taxpayer, a business owner, or a tax consultant, this platform has been meticulously designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.”

Haruna listed benefits of the platform to include, promotion of ease of doing business within the FCT, enhancement of accessibility to important tax-related services, simplified and streamlined tax services, among other things.

In his goodwill message, one of the technical partners and chief executive officer, Auto Communications Service, Bosun Ajeni, stated that his organisation is keying into the vision of the service to support it achieve the vision.

Ajeni particularly congratulated the FCT-IRS for achieving a milestone of crossing the N200 billion milestone in revenue collection, last year.
