Forex: Reps threaten warrant of arrest on BINANCE top officials

The House of Representatives is set to issue a warrant of arrest on the executive officials of Binance (crypto currency platform) who were absent at the investigative hearing held Tuesday at the National Assembly and chaired by Hon. Ginger Onwusibe.

The Chairman of the Committe on Financial Crimes Hon. Onwusibe, during his opening remarks, mentioned that based on a petition received from Empowerment for Unemployment Youths Initiative and Niger Delta Council, the committee has taken the step to ensure it gets to the root of the various allegations leveled against Binance.

During the investigative hearing, Hon. Isa Dogonyaro, a member of the committee on Financial Crimes, moved a motion on the need for the cCommitte to evoke it’s powers through the House to issue a warrant of arrest on the management of Binance.

The Chairman of the Committee Hon.Onwusibe who put the motion to voice vote which was adopted, noted that the house will issue a warrant of arrest on Binance over various allegations levelled against them ranging from Financing of Terrorism, Tax Evasion amongst others.

Earlier, the legal Representives of Binance, Senator Ihenyen, revealed to the Committe that two executive members of Binance were arrested by the National Security Adviser NSA, and are still in custody hence the reason for their absence before the committe.
